Shocking Differences: Christian Communion vs. LDS Sacrament
What are some of the differences between an LDS view of The Sacrament and a Christian view of Christian Communion (or the Lord's Supper)? Mormonism uses water, while Christianity uses wine or some other "fruit of the vine." Are these differences significant?
Both Mormons and Christians practice an ordinance which the Lord Jesus instituted the night when he was betrayed. But while Latter-day Saints believe that in each taking of the Sacrament, we promise to keep all the commandments of God in order to merit mercy, Christian communion points to something quite different.
When we take the Lord's Supper, it's not a reminder of what we must do to merit grace, but what God has done in rescuing un...

5 Things The LDS Church No Longer Teaches

What teachings have been a part of Mormonism until recent times? Even though the LDS Church is only around 200 years old, there have been a number of substantial changes in both teaching and church policy. PROOF: Mormons Don't Treat Their Prophets Like Prophets

LDS Church Leaders have taught that Heavenly Father has a father-yet many Latter-day Saints (Mormons) disagree with this teaching. As an evangelical-this baffles me! Mormonism claims to be the Restored Church of Jesus Christ, in part, because they have modern prophets and apostles. Yet when their prophets and apostles teach on controversial issues that have fallen out of favor in the modern LDS...

I'm one of the so-called "protesters" who stands outside of the Mormon (LDS) General Conference. Here's why I'm out here. And each conference, there are hosts of Christians standing outside trying to get Mormons to talk to them. Why are we out there? What...

The Controversial Truth Behind 'You Are Gods' in Psalm 82

Who are the "gods" in the "divine council" in Psalm 82? Latter-day Saints (Mormons) claim that we are "gods in embryo," and frequently use Psalm 82 to support that belief. What do you mean Mormon wrote th Book of Mormon combining the writings of prophets before him then the stories being combined into the final version by Joseph Smith. That’s the facts, that’s what we teach. As an LDS member I hope that people verify their sources and look for the true answers for them, whether that be in my church or not.

    Nephi was living approximately 600 years before the birth of the Savior and long before any "saving grace" had yet been offered to the world. Moreover Nephi and his people were busy observing Mosaic Law (over 600 prescribed rules and regulations). Nevertheless, if you read on, Nephi fully understands where his salvation comes from. Nephi's remarks are exactly what a true prophet of God might say during this time. Do you really think that a twenty-three year old Joseph Smith, was considering all of this when he "concocted" the Book of Mormon?

    What’s funny about this presentation (good job by the way), is that it actually doesn’t contradict lds doctrine at all. We believe that all will be resurrected as Paul said, with certain kinds of bodies, some celestial, others terrestrial. First we are resurrected, raised up, and brought into Gods presence to be judged. Then, after we have received the kind of body God raises us up in, then we enter into a place of the same. Those scriptures are explaining perfectly the resurrection. Where Latter Day Saints get the idea of places called Celestial, Terrestrial, & Telestial, is from latter day revelation from the Lord Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith saw Christ many times in vision, and one of those times was this, when Christ taught him about the “many mansions in His Fathers house.” The “places” that those differing types of bodies will go. I hope that clears it up for everyone :) I was saved by Jesus Christ when I was 17 while reading the Book of Mormon. I recommend it to everyone. Don’t be like the Jews who reject the New Testament. Don’t reject more of His word. Be open to God and receive all His word.

    Guys in the US used to swim in the nude on High School swim teams until as late as the early '70's. It was considered masculine, and an issue of hygiene. No good filtration and chlorine meant that cleaning a pool meant emptying the whole thing. Expensive! Now, wearing a Speedo is "gay." Mormons don't teach things they did years ago. Meh. I could have done it. Probably not now that I'm old, but certainly at 22. I used to take 3 stacks of roof shingles, 80 lbs each, put them over my shoulder, and take them up to the roof. When I was younger, we had these 120 lb soda cylinders, and I would move them four at a time. If you saw me now or then, I did not appear muscular, and never worked out. Later I found out that I'm probably in the tribe of Dan. Nowadays, I'm lucky to lift my cat, but that's more of a teeth and claws thing.

    I believe that there are many in the church, who have been conceived of the Holy Spirit, but not fully birthed, and they need to be. Also, in addition to my last comment, think about circumcision in Colossians 2-11:12. Baptism into Jesus Christ is new covenant circumcision. Moses child was nearly killed, because circumcision had not happened. I know that according to Romans four, Abraham was declared to be righteous before the circumcision act, but when he was notified that he needed to be circumcised, he certainly was, and if he had not been, we may not have the new covenant today, at least in the way we have it. Perhaps God would’ve raised up someone else, but the point is made that circumcision graphs into the covenant. Also, think about the fact that circumcision is a cutting away of the foreskin of the flesh, and circumcision is our death to the domination and the power of sins grip, when done in faith. Instead of the knife, it is the water in repentance and faith, in the name of Jesus Christ. Circumcision is the cutting away, and the death to the power and bondage of sin, and rising up out of the water, and receiving the holy spirit, act 2:38 and 39, is the resurrection power, and the receiving of new life, so in baptism, you have a death, a bath, a burial, and a birth, combined together of water and spirit. Water and spirit are two elements of one birth. I believe repentance and faith are conception while water and spirit baptism bring one out of the womb of the church and into the full expression of kingdom realities. This is why we need the whole package which is act 2:38, 8-12:16, 10-44:48, 19-1: 6, one Corinthians 6:11, Galatians 3-5: 14, Titus 3:5. Thank God for justification, but we need to walk in the fullness of regeneration and sanctification as well so we can move on and be ready for glorification when he comes, Romans 8-29:30, Ephesians one - 3:14, three versus 14 and Follow.

  • @ryandawson2877
    @ryandawson2877 9 дней назад

    Works of faith people. Yes, we are initially justified by faith according to Romans, four versus 11 and following, so I believe if someone truly repent and believes, but has a heart attack 30 minutes later, they will be with the Lord. I believe that, but I also do not give anyone an out About being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, act 2:38, 8-12:16, 10:48, 19:5, 22:16, Romans 6-3:6, one Corinthians one - 12:13, 6:11, 10-1:5, Galatians 3:27, Colossians 2-11:12, etc. Baptism also saves us giving us a clean conscience toward God, one Peter 3-20: 21, so there is attention here. I do not believe that baptism is absolutely necessary, and that I believe that there are exceptions and extenuating circumstances, but baptism is necessary. It is an absolute command and requirement and faith without works as dead, James, 2-14: 26. It is part of the package. If you have not obeyed, John 3:5 and act 2:38, you need to. Also, think about one Corinthians 6:11, and Titus 3:5. Also, think about this. If baptism does absolutely nothing, what would be the point of Jesus, commanding us to baptize into the one singular name of the father, son, and Holy Ghost, Matthew 28:19? This was fulfilled in act 2:38, but I digress. What is the point of Jesus commanding this sacrament if baptism does nothing and it’s just symbolic and it’s just telling everyone you’re a Christian. It is one thing to be forgiven, Romans 3:4 and five. It is another thing for the past to be washed away, buried, and never to resurrect, act 22:16, Romans 6-3:6, Colossians 2-11:12. This is not symbolic. I should say it is not mirror, symbolism, but with repentance and faith, it is actual. It is effectual. As we have faith, in the working of God, it has a glorious effect, and I get really tired of people asking if they have to be baptized. If you’re wondering if it is a requirement, Perhaps you have not repented and believed as you should, because if you had, when you learned that it is a command, you would say show me the water. God can use a means of demonstration, and he does. The Israelites had the blood of Jesus in typology, applied to the door post of their house, and they had a certain amount of protection, but it was not until they went through the cloud, and the sea, the water, and the spirit, That the Egyptians could have no hold on them unless they turned around. Neman was cleansed of leprosy when he obeyed the instruction of the prophet and dip down seven times in the river Jordan. There are things that you will never be free from until your baptized, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, according to the scriptures, which is for the remission of sins. Can a believer go to heaven without being baptized? I believe if he or she has not come to the understanding, or had the opportunity that they will, but I don’t have that assurance for anyone who refuses to take on the name of Jesus, that knows better, revelation 2:13, 3-8: 11, 22: around verse 14. A bride is supposed to take on the name of her bridegroom, and then baptism we take on his name by grace through faith, and that is a marvelous gift, and not to be refused. Also consider Matthew 22 about a man trying to enter into the Kings territory, or a wedding feast without the garment. Without the wedding garment, he was not secure. The man waited for an explanation as to how he got in without a wedding garment, but he had no legitimate explanation, and he was thrown out. SELAH… he believes in his baptized Shelby saved, but he does not believe will be condemned, Mark, 16:16. If you refuse to be baptized, you refuse to believe.

    I grew up Mormon. Went to four years of seminary before High School each morning. Received a Duty to God Award. In my early 20s, I walked away from the church when they threatened to excommunicate me for being gay. Lots happened, but in my mid-60s I had to go back simply cause I needed financial help. Either God is fickle and changes his mind or religion is a bunch of man-made BS. No such thing as A true church. I have shaken hands with angels, Been to heaven briefly, and Seen more than my share of miracles. I can safely say that God is Pure Love and he loves diversity. All good people go back to heaven which is our home. We come to earth to learn and grow. God loves watching his kids grow and learn. You asked God for a certain type of life; he may or may not have recommended changes, and you are free to make those changes or not. Why did the Mormons allow blacks? The church wanted to expand and build temples in places like Brazil but under the old rules, they could not have any blacks holding the priesthood because people did not know what race the great-grandparents were so they had to change the rules. In the short version, it was about expansion and money. Joesph Smith has already reincarnated into a new body and can be seen on Sister Wives seems his soul loves having multiple wives

    Misrepresentation of others is not a pursuit of truth. There is no doctrine that teaches anyone will be the God of this Earth except the God there is now, nobody else can author was has already been authored. Many people and churches think that the Bible teaches Theosis, to become like God because that what Paul teaches and what Jesus in John and Revelations teaches, to be a child of God and have eternal life is what it takes. “Be ye therefore perfect, as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”
